Today, I want to talk about how to align your professional and personal brands so you can experience a genuinely fulfilling life from all angles. Now, every blueprint starts at ground zero. So let’s start with the groundwork. We need to make sure we’re on the same page. When I refer to brand, usually people think of a brand as a business or a celebrity. But I want you to start looking at yourself as your brand. Simply put, you are your own brand, whether you’re a business owner, a professional, a leader in any organization, a celebrity, or even just starting out on a new journey.
You are your brand. You are the head of all of your involvements, your passions, and your interests. Everything else falls beneath that umbrella. The umbrella is you. So imagine with me…you are at the top and everything that you’re inspired by, everything that you’re involved in, everything you’re passionate about is just another aspect of you under that umbrella. So to help get a clear idea of what this looks like for you, I’ll use my own brand as an example. I, Ashley LaRae Sampson am my own brand just like everyone else. I’m at the top of my umbrella. A few things that fall beneath my umbrella are my company, each board of directors that I’m on, each of my passions and so forth, they all fall within that sphere of my brand. The issue most of us experience is that who we truly are is not always authentically represented by what we are doing.
In fact, sometimes those things used to be a valid representation of us, but we have changed, and we haven’t quite updated our environments or our involvements yet. It’s in these shifting and outdated realities that we experience, a lack of fulfillment, inspiration to move forward as the powerful beings that we truly are because we just aren’t quite in alignment. So how do we get from where we are now to where we truly want to be? That’s what I’m here for, you guys. Let’s first recognize the version of you that you’re most consistently making your moment by moment decisions as it’s from this perspective that everything else is being shaped, and I want to help you start changing that perspective. To start getting to the bottom of this foundation. Let’s consider one of the very first and absolutely most important questions I ask my clients to guide their journey to transcending any limitations keeping them from their next level.
That question is, who is your ideal self? How can you begin tapping into that energy now to begin filling the gaps? Let’s dig just a little deeper then. If you’ve ever felt like it’s so difficult to get from where you are to where you want to be, you’re definitely not alone. I mean, since our childhood we’ve been told who we are and how we should be. We’re stuck in a loop of false and limiting beliefs about ourselves that others told us who we are or that we somehow perceived as who we are. Now remember, a belief is just a thought that you think over and over and over. A belief isn’t necessarily the truth. It’s just a thought that you just kept thinking until you finally believe it.
So why is it so hard to change these beliefs? Well, let me put it into a little bit better perspective. Experts say we think 50- to 60,000 thoughts per day. That’s a lot of thinking. Now get this, about 90% of them are the same as the day before. What the hell? Essentially we are living a real life version of Groundhog Day. Every single day is almost the same as the day before. So 90% of about 3,000 thoughts per hour are the same as yesterday. Seriously, what the hell, you guys, we are doing this to ourselves and we probably don’t even realize until we learn how to reprogram our thoughts. We’re living in a time loop with minimal changes day after day. No wonder it’s so hard to streamline our greatness and live a new life. So if you fall into that category, don’t feel bad. Most of us are doing it. And yes, it’s hard for all of us until we can learn the tools necessary to start breaking those patterns.
So if we can make adjustments to how we see ourselves, we can begin breaking that pattern. Now this is where my affinity for esoteric tools begins to come into play. One way to change that perspective and step into the new vision is visualization. And luckily for us, I have a link below to visualization I’ve done with hundreds of people, including myself. And I encourage you to do that with me when you have a chance. Hopefully as soon as you’re done with this would be even better because it’s a very powerful tool for positive change. So I want you to re-envision your brand as your ideal self. That’s what I really want. I want you to start thinking of your ideal self, who you truly want to be, your most amazing, most happy, most successful, most healthy, most fulfilled, and most free self as your brand. That now is your new brand.
So when I say “brand” from now on, I mean your ideal self, ask yourself now, what would your ideal self look like? What would your ideal self be wearing, be driving, what would your ideal self do on a daily, weekly, monthly basis? How would your ideal self spend your evenings, your weekends, your vacations? How would your ideal self feel and act? How would you interact with others? You see what I’m doing here? Let’s start seeing the New so you can believe in the New and receive the New. We need to start turning our brand into our ideal self. We need to start turning ourselves into our ideal self. So what’s the difference between where you are now and your ideal self, your true brand? What steps can be taken toward that new vision, moment by moment? What decisions are you making now that are not in alignment with that ideal self?
I want you to take on that new perspective and make decisions from that higher vantage point now only, just that higher vantage point from now on. Make those decisions from that space. For example, with your clothes, if how you dress now is not in alignment with your ideal self and how they would dress. Go through your closet, figure out what is closest to that and start wearing those things and get rid of the other things, if you can. And then as you go shopping from now on, shop from that perspective, what would my ideal self be wearing? That’s what you need to start buying from now on. It doesn’t have to be expensive. It can be from Walmart, from Target, from Ross, from Burlington, it doesn’t matter. Just do that, and you’re going to start feeling and looking more and more like your ideal self, every day.
So everyday when you wake up, ask yourself, who do I want to be today? If you’re here listening to this, I’d hope you’d start choosing your ideal self now. It takes some retraining of the mind, but you can do it. Trust me, even in the smallest steps, like I said, moment by moment, come from that vantage point. Now of course, this is just one aspect of reaching your higher potential. It’s just one question I go through with my clients and I have a super intensive – I have six actually super intensive – sessions, so you can imagine this is just a great starting point, but it’s the greatest starting point. So to keep it short, since we’re all busy people on a mission towards greater levels of transformation and success, I’m going to end this one here, but I want you guys to do my ideal self visualization so you can streamline your process using the power of your own inner sight and tap into your deeper knowing.
